Questions

Questions and answers

Short answers about the free tools, the paid services, privacy and the scope of the guides, grouped by topic. Each answer links to the page with the detail.

The tools

Are the planning tools really free?

Yes. The planner, budget estimator, feature selector, launch checklist and roadmap cost nothing and need no account. They run in your browser and save their results as text files.

Does the site keep what I type into the tools?

No. The tools do the work on your device. Nothing is sent to the site or stored, so closing the page clears your answers. Download the text file if you want to keep them.

Is the budget estimator a price list?

No. It starts with placeholder figures that you replace with your own day rate and hours. It adds them up; it does not know what any builder will charge.

Does the launch checklist test my website?

No. You tick each item yourself. It is a list to work through, not an automatic check of accessibility, security or search.

What happens in a planning session?

A 90 minute video call that works through goals, audience, pages, features and budget, followed by a written summary. It costs £360 plus VAT where applicable. The planning session page has the detail.

Can I get a website built from my plan?

You can ask for a build quote. The price is fixed in writing before any deposit. You are free to take the same plan to any other builder instead.

Do you build online shops?

A quote can include an online shop. The shops and makers page covers what to plan first, including the information UK rules expect a shop to show.

Scope of the guides

Do the guides apply outside the UK?

They are written for the United Kingdom. Rules on cookies, privacy, company details and selling online differ elsewhere.

Is this legal advice?

No. The guides explain what official sources say and link to them. For a decision with real legal or tax risk, speak to a qualified adviser.

Why are there no testimonials on the site?

The site does not publish testimonials, star ratings or client stories. The examples use invented businesses and are labelled as such. The reviews guide explains the UK rules on reviews for your own site.

Privacy and contact

What happens to a message sent through the contact form?

It arrives as an email and is used to reply to you. The privacy notice explains how long it is kept and your rights.

Does the site use cookies?

Only one, and only on the contact page, to protect the form. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The cookie page lists it.

Still have a question?

Send it through the contact page or by email, and say which page it relates to.
